Raiva is not just small town where our restaurant is located, Raiva and the Region of the lower Douro are the home of unique regional delicacies. A simple, relaxed and very traditional cuisine that brings to the table the best that this region has to offer. But ... Raiva is also the emotion you feel when choosing from this menu. The selection is not easy, between the best regional delicacies or Chef Dárcio’s signature courses. If struggling, choose one of each.

A journey through the most important wine and gastronomic region in the world. The Douro rises at an altitude of 2,000 meters on the peaks of Urbión in the interior of Spain, near the city of Soria. It has a length of almost 900km, around 600km in the neighboring country, just over 100km in international waters and the rest in Portugal.
Its diversity of climates and landscapes makes it the most interesting river in the world, both for its gastronomy and the offer of wine. At its source we find the DO Ribera del Duero, the most prestigious wine in Spain, followed by another three DO (Cigales, Toro and Arribes del Duero, the last one located in a biosphere reserve nature park). In this part of the River Douro we find the most interesting flavors of Spanish cuisine, the Iberian Ham. In Portugal, Douro and Trás-os-Montes wines continue the tradition of great wines, as well as Vinho Verde.
To this wine offer you can add Extra Virgin Olive Oils, cheeses and bread.
The mouth of the river coincides with the world famous Port Wine, the first appellation of controlled origin in the world.
And that's why the Douro River is so special. We have sea, mountains, vineyards, orchards, plateaus, holm oaks, cork oaks... all connected to the river.
